BBC News - http://news.bbc.co.uk/

BBC News is the best mobile news site among other counterparts, such as CNN, MSNBC, and CBC (as of today, Sep, 2008). BBC mobile web is designed carefully considering limited access users. At the top of site, "accessibility links" provides great features, such as "low graphics" and "access keys helps." Almost all contents in web are available in mobile web as well. In addition, some necessary contents are added for mobile web, while unnecessary contents are removed. Even though its great interface, I would like to suggest some recommendation.

  • To top button: There are few "to top" buttons, but I would like to see more. Scrolling up and down in the mobile web isn't easy task.

  • Javascript enabled text: "latest news" is displaying as a flowing text using Javascript. This could be good to have readers' attention, but it isn't appropriate for small screen. It could be replaced with static text catching readers' eyes.

  • Low Contrast: The contrast of the text color and background color is low. Gray and light-blue text isn't visible on sunny outside.
